#MTLFASHIONWEEK

Exciting times for the fashion industry as (#MTLFW) Montreal Fashion Week kicked off (from March 31 to April 2nd). Prior to the show, we didn’t know what to expect, as a secretive feel to what was behind the curtain would only be fully known once the models hit the runway. Being apart of Montreal’s fashion scene was exciting as the anticipation built towards the first day of the event and that certain mystique was worth the wait. Once the lineups of people on opening night streamed over two floors of the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel, the sold-out show and fashion scene was in full buzz.

The talent of all who worked tirelessly for weeks and months was about to come to a crescendo as the lights dimmed and the music filled the room. First impressions were the creative attention to the runway and set up of the room. It was also clear this was going to be a show to remember for many differentiating reasons. Clearly, the focus was built around the audience having close access to the designer’s creations the model exhibited for attendees. The cool blend of lighting, the ambiance of the artfully decorated room and music mixed perfectly to create multiple nights of fashion fit for the serious collection critique and merchandisers. Once the show hit mid-stream all behind the scene challenges became invisible and made the efforts of the MTL Fashion Week Organizers worth the hard work and dedication to the fashion industry. The show was a beautiful success the audience embraced fully.

The lineup of brands and sponsors was impressive. From cool leathers to elegant evening ball dresses. From Toes dressed in Aldo to faces made up by Guerlain and high-end brands like Moschino creating a visual style evoking a feel reminiscent of elite fashion mecca’s. This was a great showcase for Designers & Talent coming out of Montreal.
This may be MTL’s first Fashion Week. But surely not the last. Thanks to the #MTLFW team for giving Episode.Guru the opportunity to work the event. We certainly had a great time and we look forward to many years to come, with #MTLFW, the brands & models that make these shows so great!
